The growing number of academic activities of the Global Cancer Consortium (GCC) necessitates decentralization by forming Chapters in various continents. The Chapters are financially autonomous, but philosophically aligned and operationally synchronized with one another and with the parent GCC.
The GCC Chapters further promote and nurture the cancer research, education and training programs of GCC. The Chapters abide by the overarching principles of philanthropy, excellence, equity and collaboration. Members of the Chapters representing Institutions that are recognized cancer centers and educational institutions in good standing and with professional accreditation will have access to all the academic events organized by the parent GCC and the GCC Chapters. The Board of Trustees of the GCC Chapter will also serve as the Executive Committee of that Chapter.
Consistent with this mandate, the GCC South Asia Chapter was established in India in April 2023, and the GCC North America Chapter was formed in the United States in September 2023. The GCC East Asia Chapter was formed in January 2024 and is led by the China Medical University (CMU), Taiwan. The GCC Europe Chapter was formed in April 2024.
